© 'BEAUFORT STYRON FISH CAMP' Beaufort NC Waterfront From Taylors Creek Glicee On Canvas By Jan Peterson
The Story:
After living full-time in Beaufort NC for 25 years, I have fallen in love with our town, its barrier islands, wild horses, the endless variety of boats which pass through our waterways, our local shrimp boats, our sea life, our bird life and Cape Lookout National Seashore.
I have always loved looking at Capt. Styron's Fish House as I meander Taylor's Creek in my skiff on the way to go fishing or spend a day at the Cape. I made this painting as it is representative of old Beaufort, the Beaufort I knew when I first made it my home. Docks worn by the tides and salt air. Fish nets cast about the railings. If you want to learn more about this fish house and our local history, check out Celia Faye Styron's book 'The Tides Have Spoken'.
